Claiming the Word of God

Jesus was armed with the Words of God when he was tempted by Satan. He knew and could quote scripture to refute the devil's lies and to resist temptation. We can do the same. When we claim the word of God, we are essentially saying, "I believe this is what God says, and I am going to obey it." God said it, I believe it, and that settles it for me. Pray, believe and receive. Pray, doubt and do without.

The word of God is powerful. It can change our lives, it can heal us, and it can even do miracles. In Matthew 18:19, Jesus says, "If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." This means that when we agree with God's word, we can ask for anything and it will be done for us.

In John 14:14, Jesus says, "If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it." This means that we can ask for anything in Jesus' name, and he will do it.

2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."

Hebrews 11:1 KJV "Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see."

2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

The Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments are a summary of God's moral law. They are repeated in the New Testament, and they are still binding on Christians today. If we want to experience the power of the word of God, we need to obey the Ten Commandments.

In the last great conflict of the controversy with Satan those who are loyal to God will see every earthly support cut off. Because they refuse to break His law in obedience to earthly powers, they will be forbidden to buy or sell. It will finally be decreed that they shall be put to death. See Revelation 13:11-17. But to the obedient is given the promise, "He shall dwell on high: his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure." Isaiah 33:16. By this promise the children of God will live. When the earth shall be wasted with famine, they shall be fed. "They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied." Psalm 37:19. To that time of distress the prophet Habakkuk looked forward, and his words express the faith of the church: "Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation." Habakkuk 3:17, 18.

The Ten Commandments are not just a list of rules to follow. They are a way of life that reflects God's character and is to be our character.

Matthew 5:48 KJV "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

When we obey the Ten Commandments, we are showing our love for God and for our fellow human beings.

Conclusion

When we claim the word of God and obey the Ten Commandments, we are armed with the power of God. We can have unlimited wishes granted and do miracles. We can change our lives, we can heal others, and we can even bring people to life.

So let's be armed with the word of God. Let's claim it and obey it. Let's see what God can do through us.

Urgency in Obeying the Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments are not just a list of rules to follow. They are a way of life that reflects God's character. When we obey the Ten Commandments, we are showing our love for God and for our fellow human beings.

But there is also an urgency in obeying the Ten Commandments. The Bible tells us that the day is coming when God will judge the world, and those who have not obeyed the Ten Commandments will be punished.

In Revelation 21:8, we read, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

This is a sobering warning. But it is also a reminder that God is merciful. If we repent of our sins and obey the Ten Commandments, we can be saved from judgment.

So let's not wait any longer. Let's start obeying the Ten Commandments today. Let's show our love for God and for our fellow human beings. And let's be prepared for the day when God will judge the world. Start memorizing scripture as our example and pattern the Son of God did. Have a "It is Written" and a "Thus Saith the Lord" on your lips instead of curse words.

WHEN we LEARN the POWER of His Word, we shall not follow the suggestions of Satan in order to obtain food or to save our lives. Our only questions will be, What is God's command? and what His promise? Knowing these, we shall obey the one, and trust the other.
